Concerns
Volume Loss
Facial volume loss is a common concern that occurs as we age. The main cause of facial volume loss is the natural ageing process associated with a reduction in collagen and elastin production and the reduction of fat pads under the skin. Changes in hormonal profile, particularly in women during menopause, can also accelerate the loss of facial volume. Smoking, excess sun exposure, and medical conditions are other contributing factors.
Thinning and less elastic skin that accompanies volume loss contribute to the formation of wrinkles and uneven texture. The reduction in fat pad volume and their descent with gravity can create a flatter profile and sagging in the mid and lower face. This can lead to a gaunt appearance, and specific areas such as tear trough deformities, hollowing of the temples, malar flattening, nose to mouth lines, jowls, and marionette lines can become more prominent.

Fine Lines & Wrinkles
Wrinkles are a natural part of the ageing process, and they are often more visible in areas exposed to the sun like the face, neck, hands, and forearms. Fine lines are also a result of ageing but are shallower and less visible than wrinkles and most commonly appear around the eyes and mouth.
The decreased production of collagen and elastin and the reduction of facial fat compartments lead to facial volume loss and contribute to the formation of wrinkles and fine lines. Additionally, sun damage is a significant factor, as UV radiation from the sun can break down collagen and elastin fibres, leading to ageing of the skin. Repetitive facial expressions like frowning or squinting and external factors like smoking, poor diet, lack of sleep, and chronic stress can increase oxidative stress and inflammation, leading to premature aging of the skin.

Facial Asymmetry & Balance
Facial asymmetry refers to a lack of symmetry or proportion between the two sides of the face. It is a common occurrence, as perfect facial symmetry is rare. While slight variations in facial features are normal and often go unnoticed, significant facial asymmetry can affect a person's appearance and self-confidence.
At Prestige Cosmetics, our goal is to enhance natural beauty, create a more balanced appearance, and boost confidence. Embracing and accepting individuality and uniqueness is equally important in promoting self-esteem and overall well-being.

Dark Circles & Bags
Under eye circles, which can appear as shadows or discolouration, may be caused by genetic factors, skin tone (with paler skin showing blood vessels more easily and darker skin exhibiting increased pigmentation), and ageing. As we age, the skin under the eyes becomes thinner and loses elasticity, making blood vessels and muscles more visible and resulting in dark circles. Sun damage can also contribute to dark pigmentation under the eyes. Tear trough deformities, characterised by a loss of fat tissue and hollowness under the eye, can also contribute to under eye circles.
Under eye bags, on the other hand, are swollen pockets or patches under the eye. They can be caused by a variety of factors including genetic predisposition, ageing, and lifestyle factors. As we age, the skin under the eyes may lose thickness and elasticity, making under eye bags more prominent. Additionally, a lack of sleep, dehydration, diets high in salt, smoking, and sun damage can all contribute to the appearance of under eye bags.

Dry & Dehydrated Skin
Dry and dehydrated skin are common skin conditions that can cause fine lines and a dull appearance. While they may share similarities, they have distinct causes and characteristics.
Dry skin occurs when the skin lacks sufficient natural oils or lipids, leading to a compromised skin barrier. This can be caused by factors such as genetics, aging, climate, and harsh skincare products. Dry skin is more prone to flaking, roughness, and tightness. It may also be more sensitive and prone to inflammation and irritation.
Dehydrated skin, on the other hand, is a condition where the skin lacks water or moisture content. It can affect anyone, regardless of skin type, and is often temporary. Dehydrated skin can be caused by various factors including external factors like weather conditions (such as cold, dry air), excessive exposure to heat or sun, and excessive use of harsh cleansing products. Additionally, internal factors like a poor diet, insufficient water intake, and certain medical conditions can contribute to skin dehydration. Dehydrated skin may feel tight, rough, and look dull. It can also show fine lines and wrinkles, as well as increased sensitivity.

Unwanted Submental Fullness
Unwanted submental fullness, commonly referred to as a "double chin," is a condition characterised by the accumulation of excess fat and/or sagging skin beneath the chin and jawline. It can affect people of various ages, body types, and weight ranges.
There are several factors that can contribute to the development of unwanted submental fullness.
Some individuals may have a genetic predisposition to storing excess fat in the submental area, making it difficult to eliminate through diet and exercise alone.
As we age, the skin naturally loses elasticity and muscle tone. This can lead to a loss of definition in the jawline and contribute to the appearance of a double chin.
